RSL Hierachy

Vale – Robert (Bob) Morrow

15th June 1923 – 3rd July 2015

It is with deep regret that we advise of the death of NEDC Patron, Mr. Bob Morrow. Bob died at Inverell on 3rd July and was interred at Inverell Lawn Cemetery on Wednesday 8th July. Former State Councillor and family friend, Mr. Ray Spackman, conducted the RSL funeral service at the graveside. A large number of RSL members, including our District Council President, attended the funeral.

A World War II veteran, Bob joined the RSL at Delungra in 1946 and held continuous membership until his death. He served as Treasurer and Vice-President of his sub-Branch before becoming President; a position he held for 23 years. He was, in fact, the last president of Delungra sub-Branch, which was wound up in the 1990s. He then became a member of Warialda sub-Branch before finally retiring to Inverell.

A tireless worker for the RSL, Bob was honoured with Life Membership in 1978 and in 1994 he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. He was a New England District Council delegate for 26 years and President for 10 years. In 2000 Bob was named as Patron of the New England District Council, a position he held until his death.

Lest we forget.
